Hello Bruceton students, parents & community! I’ve been fortunate to be a part of the Bruceton School family since 2006. First, as a middle school math teacher and, in most recent years, as your Assistant Principal whereas I have the pleasure of providing support to teachers and students as the learning process occurs. I am a proud supporter of the mission of our school and my dedication to our students is immeasurable.
Schools work best when then entire community rallies together to support the students’ needs. There is no doubt that the community support for Bruceton School is unmatched. Our school is comprised of amazing students, dynamic teachers and staff, as well as caring and supportive parents/grandparents/guardians. I am happy to work alongside such a wonderful team of individuals!
Professionally, I began my teaching career in 2001, all of which has taken place in Preston County. The first three years consisted of filling long-term leaves of absence in the following areas: Kindergarten at Bruceton School, 5th grade at Kingwood Elementary, 5th grade at Kingwood Elementary, Kindergarten at Kingwood Elementary, Kindergarten at Kingwood Elementary, 3rd grade at Rowlesburg School & 6th grade at Central Preston Middle School. For the next two years, I taught middle school math at Terra Alta/East Preston School. At that point, I found my home at Bruceton School, where I taught middle school math for 11 years before becoming Assistant Principal in 2017.
Personally, I was born and raised in Kimball, a small town in southern West Virginia. After graduating from Mount View High School in 1997, I moved to Fairmont, WV. While attending college there, I met my husband, Chad. After all these years, there is still much debate about who pursued who; however, we dated for 3 years and were married in August of 2001. We have 2 children, Gage and Ragan. My husband was raised in Valley Point and Bruceton Mills is the place we call home. When I am not at work, I enjoy having adventures with my family!
