Financial Aid & Scholarships

Scholarships posted here will be broken down into National, State and Local Scholarships.  They will be subdivided into the months that they are due as well.   Please note that updated scholarships are not always available from the start of the school year.  Scholarships will be reposted as we get new applications.

 

NEW!

The Hagan Foundation Scholarship URGENT.  DUE NOVEMBER 15, 2019.  The Purpose of the Hagan Scholarship is to provide each recipient with the opportunity to obtain a four-year college education and graduate debt free. The Free Workshops, Schwab Accounts, and Study Abroad provide recipients with a practical understanding of important life skills not typically taught as a part of the school curriculum.

National

FASFA on the Web  - Apply for federal student aide here.   Can begin to fill out as of October 1, 2019.  Must be submitted by March 1, 2020.

Beauty and Wellness Scholarship for Women$1000 + a beauty basket.  Quarterly deadlines of September 30, January 1st, March 31, and June 30.   Must be a graduating senior, must be a woman, all majors are encouraged to apply, and all grade point averages will be considered.

American Foreign Service Association Scholarship - Not available yet.  Spring 2020

Davidson Fellows Scholarship -  Not Available yet.  February 2020

GenM Scholarship - 4 - $5000 awards, Due September 30th, 2019-  Must complete profile;  can be enrolled in any college program; must be a resident of the United States

Money Metals Exchange Scholarship - 5 - $2000 awards, Due September 30, 2019 -  Must complete questionnaire; complete an essay of roughly 1000 words; have an interest in Economics (but do not have to major in Economics

Capstone Scholarship - $1000 - due September 30, 2019 - Winner will be a random drawing; must be a U.S. citizen.

Odenza Marketing Group Scholarship - $500. Due September 30, 2019. Must be a U.S. or Canadian citizen, sbumit answers to the essay questions by the deadline, have a GPA of 2.5 or greater.

VIP Voice Scholarship - $5,000 - Due September 30, 2019 - Submit by 11:59 pm on due date; can submit multiple entries; must review and click on confirmation email to be entered.

 Create Real Impact Scholarship - 13 - $500 Awards. Due October 5, 2019.  must be a resident of the U.S.; Create and Showcase an Original Work (see application for specific requirements.

Hispanic Heritage Youth Award180 - $3,500 awards.  Due October 15, 2019.   Must have a minimum UNWEIGHTED GPA of 3.0;  Must be a current senior; must be of Hispanic heritage; if selected must attend the mandatory awards ceremony (travel at own expense).

Women's Ministries Scholarship - 49 - $20,000 awards. Due October 15, 2019.  Please see scholarship site for complete eligibility requirements;  Must be a woman planning to attend a Seventh Day Adventist College.

American Muscle Student Scholarship - 4 - $2,000 awards.  Due October 15, 2019.  Must submit a 750 - 1500 word essay (see site for more details).

Make the U Scholarship - 31 - $15,000 awards. Due October 15, 2019.  Please see site for specific award levels and dollar amounts.   Must demonstrate leadership in community; academic excellence; dedication to community service.

Horatio Alger Scholarship - 106 - $25,000 awards.  Due October 25, 2019.   Must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0; demonstrate critical financial need (family gross income of $55,000 or Less); exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete a bachelor's degree.  (see site for more details).

You Deserve It Scholarship - $1000. Due October 29, 2019.  Must live in the U.S;

Coca-Cola Scholars Program - 150 - $25,000 awards. Due October 31, 2019.   Must be a current senior who will graduate in spring of 2020; must be a US citizen; must be planning to pursue a post secondary degree.  NOTE:  you cannot be the child or grandchild of an employee, worker, or owner of Coca-Cola.

SP High School Scholarship - 10 - $10,000 awards.  Due October 31, 2019.  Simply register -- no essays to write or applications to fill out (see site for more details).

Kid Guard Scholarship1 - $800 winner, 1 - $700 winner, 3 - $500 winners.  Due October 31st of each year, by 11:59 PM.  Must submit a campaign or essay.  See website for details.  All submissions are done online.

Magnum Opus Scholarship -   $1000.  Due October 31, 2019.  This is a drawing for a scholarship.  There is no essay to write and no application process., just enter the drawing.  Winner announced November 1st.

Elks Most Valuable Student Competition - 500 - $50,000 awards.  Due November 15, 2019;  see site for specific list of requirements and awards.

Real World Design Challenge Scholarships - 7 awards - $50,000.  Due November 22, 2019.  See site for more information and requirements.

Griswold Home Care Scholarship2 awards - $1000.  Due November 30, 2019.  Student must be pursuing a bachelor’s, associate’s, graduate, or professional degree at an accredited college or university.

Driver Education Initiative Scholarship - 6 awards - $500.  Due November 30, 2019.  Student must submit an essay demonstrating knowledge on the topic of safe driving.  See website for more detailed information.

Dr. Juan Andrade Jr. Scholarship for Young Hispanic Leaders  - 20 awards - $1,000.  Due November 30, 2019.  Must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment as full time undergraduate student  in the U.S. or its territories, demonstrate a verifiable need for financial support, and have at least one parent of Hispanic Ancestry.

SP Scholarship - 10 awards - $10,000.  Due November 30, 2019.  This is a drawing for a scholarship.  There is no essay to write and no application process., just enter the drawing.

Barbara Lotze Scholarships for Future Teachers - 10 awards - $2,000.  Due December 1st, 2019.  Must be pursuing or planing to pursue a a course of study leading toward a career in teaching Physics in the high schools. Applications can be submitted online.  See site for more details.

Lamber-Goodnow Scholarships - 8 awards - $1,000. Due December 1, 2019.   See site for more details.

Final Fantasy Fan Scholarship - $1000. Due December 15, 2019.  This scholarship is awarded on December 20th of each year.  Students must submit a 5 paragraph essay or less that includes the following:

  • Relationship with Final Fantasy and how it has made you a better student and/or person
  • include any lessons learned in any specific games
  • impact lessons have had on your life.

 

Profisee Computer and Information Systems Scholarship - $1000. Due December 31, 2019. Students who are seeking or plan to seek a degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science or related degree.

Funnelster Scholarship $3000.  Due December 30, 2019.  Winner Announced January 15, 2020.  Students write an essay of not more than 750 words.  The essay topic is "What is the Impact of Social Media in the Millenial Generation". Please see the website for specific rules governing essay requirements and submission.

WV PTA Scholarship - Several $500 scholarships.   Due December 31, 2019.  See website for cover letter, application, and rules/requirements.

MIT Think Scholars Programup to $1000. Due January 1, 2020 - THINK project proposals are science, technology, and engineering ideas that span many fields, from green technologies and practical devices to software applications. As long as it can be completed in one semester with a $1,000 budget, almost anything is fair game! A good proposal has an insightful ideaclearly defined goals, and a well thought-out procedure for implementation.

Foot Locker Scholar Athletes $20,000.   Due by 5:00 PM, January 3rd, 2020.  See website for eligibility and application process.  NOTE:  Individuals may nominate students (deadline for nominations is December 13, 2019), but nominations are not required in order to apply for the scholarship.  See the website for the nomination process

GE Reagan Foundation Scholarship $10,000 renewable each year for a total of $40,000.  Due by 3:00 pm CENTRAL TIME on January 3rd, 2020 OR until 25,000 applications have been submitted.  

Eligibility:

*demonstrate at school, at the workplace, and within the community the attributes of leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship;
*demonstrate strong academic performance (minimum 3.0 grade point average/4.0 scale or equivalent);
*be citizens of the United States of America;
*be current high school seniors attending high school in the United States (students living on U.S. Armed Forces base and homeschooled students are also eligible); and
*plan to enroll in a full-time undergraduate course of study toward a bachelor’s degree at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States for the entire upcoming academic year.

Ron Brown Scholarship Program$10,000 per year for for years.  Must be post marked by January 9,2020.  To be eligible, applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents, Black/African American and current high school seniors at the time of their application. Current college students are not eligible to apply. Applicants should demonstrate academic achievement, exhibit leadership ability, participate in community service activities and have a demonstrated financial need.

The Greater Kanawha Valley Foundation Scholarship -Due January 15, 2020.   See the site for available scholarships and how to apply.

United States JCI Foundation Scholarships - $1,000.   Must be postmarked no later than January 24, 2020.  Please see site for more details.  Each year, the U.S. Junior Chamber International (JCI) Senate Foundation grants $1,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors who plan to continue their education at accredited post-secondary colleges, universities or vocational schools. The number of grants awarded annually is at the discretion of the Foundation and must be used for educational expenses in the first year of full-time study. Checks awarded will be made out in the name of the recipient and the educational institution of the recipient’s choice.

Bezos Scholarship Due January 31, 2020. Make sure you read all of the requirements for eligibility carefully.

Italian Heritage Festival Scholarship 2019 - 20 - Awards range from $100 to $1000.  Due February 1, 2020.  Applicants must be of Italian descent, be available for the VIP lunch and Grande Parade, and must pay a $10 application fee to be included with scholarship application.

Hotsinpiller Scholarship -  Not open yet for this year.  Keep checking back.  Last year's application was due February 1, 2019.

WV Garden Club $500.  Due February 1, 2020.  Make sure you apply for the Esther J. Hinchman Scholarship (this is the one open to high school seniors).  This is for any student planning on studying horticulture or environmental studies in college.

Mon General Foundation Scholarship - Not available yet.  Last year's application was due February 15, 2019.

Fellowsville alumni Ruritan scholarship$600.  Due March 1, 2020.  For students in the Fellowsville attendance area.

Signet Classics Student Scholarship - $1000. Opens July 1st, 2019. Must be postmarked by April 15, 2020 and received by April 22, 2020. Read the requirements carefully
