Mission Statement

West Preston School's Mission is to facilitate the development of student skills and attitudes to become motivated learners.

Core Beliefs

We believe that every child can learn. We believe that student attendance affects achievement. Parents and teachers should be partners in a child's education.

Preston County Schools will be sponsoring a series of informal informational meetings in regards to the proposed school closure process at Fellowsville and Rowlesburg for all members of the general public.  Meetings will be held in each of the communities that will be potentially impacted by the proposed school closures for the 2019-20 school year.  The purpose of these informational meetings is for the Preston County Schools’ central office administration to gather information from the public and for the public to understand what is being recommended and why.  Board members may be in attendance, but will not be permitted to field questions or deliberate on any matters.  All meetings will begin at 6:00 PM.  Meetings will be held in the following locations on the following dates:  Monday, October 15th at South Preston School; Tuesday, October 16th @ Fellowsville Elementary; Wednesday, October 17th @ Rowlesburg; Thursday, October 18th @ Terra Alta / East Preston; and Tuesday, October 23rd at Central Preston Middle School.

Girls' basketball tryouts will begin on Monday, October 29, from 4-6 PM.  The athletes must be in grades 6,7,8 and have at least a 2.0 GPA.  Other requirements include a physical exam, dated after June 1, 2018 and completion of the online eligibility/insurance verification form, accessible from the following link:

6th and 10th graders must return this letter before they can get their 1:1 devices. The devices will be passed out during the school day.
