Scholarships posted here will be broken down into National, State and Local Scholarships. They will be subdivided into the months that they are due as well. Please note that updated scholarships are not always available from the start of the school year. Scholarships will be reposted as we get new applications.
The Hagan Foundation Scholarship - URGENT. DUE DECEMBER 1, 2020. The Purpose of the Hagan Scholarship is to provide each recipient with the opportunity to obtain a four-year college education and graduate debt free. The Free Workshops, Schwab Accounts, and Study Abroad provide recipients with a practical understanding of important life skills not typically taught as a part of the school curriculum.

Good 360 Sustainability Scholarship
Beauty and Wellness Scholarship for Women - $1000 + a beauty basket. Quarterly deadlines of September 30, January 1st, March 31, and June 30. Must be a graduating senior, must be a woman, all majors are encouraged to apply, and all grade point averages will be considered.

Hispanic Heritage Youth Award - 180 - $3,500 awards. Due October 15, 2019. Must have a minimum UNWEIGHTED GPA of 3.0; Must be a current senior; must be of Hispanic heritage; if selected must attend the mandatory awards ceremony (travel at own expense).
Women's Ministries Scholarship - 49 - $20,000 awards. Due October 15, 2019. Please see scholarship site for complete eligibility requirements; Must be a woman planning to attend a Seventh Day Adventist College.
American Muscle Student Scholarship - 4 - $2,000 awards. Due October 15, 2019. Must submit a 750 - 1500 word essay (see site for more details).
Make the U Scholarship - 31 - $15,000 awards. Due October 15, 2019. Please see site for specific award levels and dollar amounts. Must demonstrate leadership in community; academic excellence; dedication to community service.
Horatio Alger Scholarship - 106 - $25,000 awards. Due October 25, 2019. Must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0; demonstrate critical financial need (family gross income of $55,000 or Less); exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete a bachelor's degree. (see site for more details).
You Deserve It Scholarship - $1000. Due October 29, 2019. Must live in the U.S;
Coca-Cola Scholars Program - 150 - $25,000 awards. Due October 31, 2019. Must be a current senior who will graduate in spring of 2020; must be a US citizen; must be planning to pursue a post secondary degree. NOTE: you cannot be the child or grandchild of an employee, worker, or owner of Coca-Cola.
SP High School Scholarship - 10 - $10,000 awards. Due October 31, 2019. Simply register -- no essays to write or applications to fill out (see site for more details).
Kid Guard Scholarship - 1 - $800 winner, 1 - $700 winner, 3 - $500 winners. Due October 31st of each year, by 11:59 PM. Must submit a campaign or essay. See website for details. All submissions are done online.
Magnum Opus Scholarship - $1000. Due October 31, 2019. This is a drawing for a scholarship. There is no essay to write and no application process., just enter the drawing. Winner announced November 1st.
InfoTracer offers a great service to consumers, but we also care about community involvement. We are offering eligible students the opportunity to win $1,000 in scholarship money for college for the 2021-2022 school year. Due October 31, 2021

Elks Most Valuable Student Competition - 500 - $50,000 awards. Due November 15, 2019; see site for specific list of requirements and awards.
Real World Design Challenge Scholarships - 7 awards - $50,000. Due November 22, 2019. See site for more information and requirements.
Griswold Home Care Scholarship - 2 awards - $1000. Due November 30, 2019. Student must be pursuing a bachelor’s, associate’s, graduate, or professional degree at an accredited college or university.
Driver Education Initiative Scholarship - 6 awards - $500. Due November 30, 2019. Student must submit an essay demonstrating knowledge on the topic of safe driving. See website for more detailed information.
Dr. Juan Andrade Jr. Scholarship for Young Hispanic Leaders - 20 awards - $1,000. Due November 30, 2019. Must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment as full time undergraduate student in the U.S. or its territories, demonstrate a verifiable need for financial support, and have at least one parent of Hispanic Ancestry.
SP Scholarship - 10 awards - $10,000. Due November 30, 2019. This is a drawing for a scholarship. There is no essay to write and no application process., just enter the drawing.
NEW! Solomon Page Scholarship - $1000 - Due November 30, 2020. Must be pursuing a degree in Business Administration. Must be a current U.S. citizen who is accepted to or currently attending a college or university in the United States.

Barbara Lotze Scholarships for Future Teachers - 10 awards - $2,000. Due December 1st, 2019. Must be pursuing or planing to pursue a a course of study leading toward a career in teaching Physics in the high schools. Applications can be submitted online. See site for more details.
Lamber-Goodnow Scholarships - 8 awards - $1,000. Due December 1, 2019. See site for more details.
Final Fantasy Fan Scholarship - $1000. Due December 15, 2019. This scholarship is awarded on December 20th of each year. Students must submit a 5 paragraph essay or less that includes the following:
- Relationship with Final Fantasy and how it has made you a better student and/or person
- include any lessons learned in any specific games
- impact lessons have had on your life.
Abbie V. Rheumatology Scholarship - Due December 19, 2019. For students living with rheumatologic diseases
Profisee Computer and Information Systems Scholarship - $1000. Due December 31, 2019. Students who are seeking or plan to seek a degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science or related degree.
Funnelster Scholarship - $3000. Due December 30, 2019. Winner Announced January 15, 2020. Students write an essay of not more than 750 words. The essay topic is "What is the Impact of Social Media in the Millenial Generation". Please see the website for specific rules governing essay requirements and submission.
WV PTA Scholarship - Several $500 scholarships. Due December 31, 2019. See website for cover letter, application, and rules/requirements.

Calvin Coolidge Presidential Foundation - This scholarship is for JUNIORS planning to attend college in Fall of 2022. Due January 20, 2021 by 5:00pm
MIT Think Scholars Program - up to $1000. Due January 1, 2020 - THINK project proposals are science, technology, and engineering ideas that span many fields, from green technologies and practical devices to software applications. As long as it can be completed in one semester with a $1,000 budget, almost anything is fair game! A good proposal has an insightful idea, clearly defined goals, and a well thought-out procedure for implementation.
Foot Locker Scholar Athletes - $20,000. Due by 5:00 PM, January 3rd, 2020. See website for eligibility and application process. NOTE: Individuals may nominate students (deadline for nominations is December 13, 2019), but nominations are not required in order to apply for the scholarship. See the website for the nomination process
GE Reagan Foundation Scholarship - $10,000 renewable each year for a total of $40,000. Due by 3:00 pm CENTRAL TIME on January 3rd, 2020 OR until 25,000 applications have been submitted.
*demonstrate at school, at the workplace, and within the community the attributes of leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship;
*demonstrate strong academic performance (minimum 3.0 grade point average/4.0 scale or equivalent);
*be citizens of the United States of America;
*be current high school seniors attending high school in the United States (students living on U.S. Armed Forces base and homeschooled students are also eligible); and
*plan to enroll in a full-time undergraduate course of study toward a bachelor’s degree at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States for the entire upcoming academic year.
Ron Brown Scholarship Program - $10,000 per year for for years. Must be post marked by January 9,2020. To be eligible, applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents, Black/African American and current high school seniors at the time of their application. Current college students are not eligible to apply. Applicants should demonstrate academic achievement, exhibit leadership ability, participate in community service activities and have a demonstrated financial need.
United States JCI Foundation Scholarships - $1,000. Must be postmarked no later than January 24, 2020. Please see site for more details. Each year, the U.S. Junior Chamber International (JCI) Senate Foundation grants $1,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors who plan to continue their education at accredited post-secondary colleges, universities or vocational schools. The number of grants awarded annually is at the discretion of the Foundation and must be used for educational expenses in the first year of full-time study. Checks awarded will be made out in the name of the recipient and the educational institution of the recipient’s choice.
Bezos Scholarship - Due January 11, 2021. Make sure you read all of the requirements for eligibility carefully.
WV Junior Chamber International Senate - Postmarked date is January 15th. It is a long application. No electronic submissions.
AFT Robert G. Porter Scholarship - The $8,000 scholarship award is paid out over a four- to six-year period, depending on the length of time the recipient will use to obtain a degree. Customarily, the scholarship is paid out through four $2,000 annual payments to the recipient and/or the higher education institution attended by the recipient. Due Jan. 31, 2021

Italian Heritage Festival Scholarship 2019 - 20 - Awards range from $100 to $1000. Due February 1, 2020. Applicants must be of Italian descent, be available for the VIP lunch and Grande Parade, and must pay a $10 application fee to be included with scholarship application.
Hotsinpiller Scholarship - Due February 1, 2021. Must be enrolled in a WV college or university and intend to major in criminal justice or a realted field and purse a career in law enforcement; must have a 3.0 GPA.
WV Garden Club - $500. Due February 1, 2020. Make sure you apply for the Esther J. Hinchman Scholarship (this is the one open to high school seniors). This is for any student planning on studying horticulture or environmental studies in college.
Mon Health Medical Foundation Scholarship - $100 - $500 dollars per school year up to 4 years. Due Februry 15th, 2020. Must be from one of the counties listed in the scholarship; must be enrolled in a health career program; must have a minimum 3.0 gpa; must have a score of 21 or more on ACT or 1060 or more on SAT; must have a a financial need.

New! Novelis Women in Novelis STEM Scholarship - Due February 26, 2021
Open to high school seniors from schools in Mon, Harrison, Marion, Taylor, or Preston counties. This is for female students pursuing
a 2- or 4- year degree in STEM, business, safety, or a skilled trade. GPA could be considered but is not a determining factor.
Three awards will be given in the amounts of $3,000, $2,000, and $1,000 based on the discretion of the Women in Novelis
committee at Novelis Fairmont.
Each school’s counselor/academic advisors will limit the submissions to a maximum of two applicants per school.

Parkersburg Area Community Foundation - At the PACF, we believe that investing in our region's next generation is critical to the success of our community. The Foundation manages 160+ scholarship funds that honor family or friends, celebrate retirements, memorialize loved ones, or ensure that donor values are passed from one generation to the next. Underwood-Smith Teaching Scholars - Up to $10,000 per year - Due March 1, 2020. For those pursuing rewarding careers as West Virginia teachers in the fields of math, science, elementary education or special education.
West Virginia Engineering, Science and Technology Scholarship Program - Up to $3000 per year - due March 1, 2020. For those pursuing careers in the fields of engineering, science and technology.
Marshall University's College of Engineering and Computer Sciences received an NSF S-STEM grant to support WV College students, mainly female, to study STEM at Marshall with scholarship of $7500/year for four years. The scholarship program starts in the fall of 2021 and MU is looking to recruit students to the program (10 students in 2021 and another 10 students in 2022).

WV Association of Conservation Districts Scholarship - Nine $1000 awards. Due the 1st Monday in March of each year (this year March 2, 2020. Applicants must be majoring in an agriculture related field. Download and complete the application.

Your Community Foundation Scholarships - Variety of Scholarships. Applications are due by March 8, 2021.
- Jim Dunn Scholarship - 2 - $1000 scholarships. Student must be planning on participating in track and/or cross country at the college level.
- The Jean and Laurence S. DeLynn Scholarship - $5,000 per year. Must be a current high school senior and a child or grandchild of a current or retired full-time Mylan employees working at the location based in Morgantown, West Virginia. Proof of employment letter required.
- Mountain Loggers Cooperative Association (MLCA) Scholarship - $750. Must be nominated by an MCLA member.
- Roy and Frances Valentine Family Scholarship - approximately $500. The scholarship recipient(s) must be the son, daughter, grandson or granddaughter of a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers (I.U.O.E.), Local #132.
- Angela Shahan Memorial Scholarship - $500. Preston County, West Virginia, high school graduate who is regularly enrolled as a student in an accredited education institution, and pursuing studies in the areas of agriculture, engineering, construction, electrical or related trades.
- Dr. Leo Kotchek Memorial Scholarship - $500 ($250 per semester) for Preston High students enrolled in pre-veterinary studies, intending to practice as a veterinarian in West Virginia. The recipient shall be evaluated based on (a) excellence, commitment and leadership through involvement in school and community organizations, (b) high academic promise and (c) submission of financial information.
- John T and Joann C. Wills Music Educators Scholarship - minimum $500. Preston County high school graduate who is regularly enrolled as an undergraduate student in a college or university and who is pursuing a course of study listed in order of consideration: 1) music education, 2) instrumental or 3) choral/vocal.
- Jocelyn A. Ayersman Memorial Scholarship - approximately $500. One-time scholarship available to Preston High School seniors from the Rowlesburg area.
- KHS Class of '59 Scholarship - approximately $500. Preston County high school graduate who is regularly enrolled as an undergraduate student in a four year college or university.
- Matthew "Biggie" Wolfe Scholarship - NEW - approximately $1000. Monongalia and Preston County students enrolled full-time, pursuing post-secondary education at an accredited institution, majoring in business, hospitality, or culinary arts.
16-year-old Kati Hatfield of Hedgesville High School created a scholarship that is now part of the Washington County (Maryland) community foundation. It is called "The Future is Yours- WV Child." The scholarship is only available to West Virginia students who reside in our 55 counties.
Through fundraising efforts that are ongoing, she made enough money, during the pandemic, to open the account with a community foundation so that the account will live forever.
In addition, she raised enough money to award two (2) $500 scholarships to graduating seniors from a WV public/private/homeschool who meet this criteria:
1) ADHD dx
2) Currently or once were in foster care, ward of the state, adoptee
3) Plan to attend college, university, or trade school.

Future of School Scholarship Program - $10,000 and $5,000 renewable - Due March 16, 2020 @ 3:00pm Central Time. Eligibility - Be high school seniors (U.S. Citizens) who have completed a minimum of five (5) blended or online courses during their last two years of high school who will be graduating in the spring or summer of 2020; Demonstrate academic achievement or personal improvement as a direct result of their enrollment in the blended/online learning curriculum; Plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.
Xi Tau Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Scholarship - $500 - Due March 23, 2020. Must be a full time student at Preston High who will be graduating. Must be planning to attend a career/vocational/technical school. Consideration will be given on the basis of community service, academic background, and curricular/extra-curricular activities.
Tucker Community Foundation - $500 - $10,000 - Due March 26, 2021. Please see the attached documents for specific scholarships and funds, eligibility, and application.

Recent Immigrant Scholarship - $1000 - Due March 31, 2020. For students who have immigrated to the United States in the last Decade.
NEW! 2020 Josh Tuck Scholarship Letter - $2,500 - Due March 31, 2021. Must enroll at: Bluefield State College, Fairmont State University, Marshall University, or WVU Tech; Must major in a healthcare management program, and submit an 450 - 500 word essay. - High Technology Scholars- $500 - Due April 1, 2020. For students who will be attending a WV College or University and will be pursing a technology related field.
- Helen Holt Mollohan Scholarship- $1000 - Due April 1, 2020. Must be a female student who will attend Glenville State College.
Signet Classics Student Scholarship - $1000. Opens July 1st, 2019. Must be postmarked by April 15, 2020 and received by April 22, 2020. Read the requirements carefully.
Not offered for 2021 Allen Pretzel Scholarship 2020 - Due April 1, 2020. Must be a Preston County resident who plans to pursue an academic or vocational program. Preference will be given to those entering an engineering, agricultural, veterinary, or vocational program. Must have maintained a 2.5 GPA, have a letter of recommendation, and proof of acceptance into an academic, vocational, or alternative program.
John and Mildred Peluso Italian American Scholarship - The WVU John and Mildred Peluso Italian American Scholarship is a $1,000 scholarship available to West Virginia University students (Morgantown campus), with Italian heritage, who demonstrate scholastic merit and pride in their heritage. Up to ten $1000 AADE scholarships are being offered for the 2020-2021 academic year. The Appalachian Chapter of the AADE is utilizing these scholarships to encourage college bound high school seniors to consider a career in the oil and gas industry. WVU’s Department of Physics and Astronomy received an NSF S-STEM grant to support WV students to study physics with a computational area of emphasis at WVU with a scholarship of up to $10,000 a year for up to 4 years. The scholarship may be awarded to high school seniors applying to WVU and to current physics students at WVU. The goal of the program is to increase the number of West Virginians pursuing high tech careers in physics and computer science. Please see the link below for more information.
